Google does not offer a way to show your reviews on your own website, so you need a widget. Plenty of widgets have a free plan, but most come with limits that are easy to miss, like monthly view caps that switch the widget off when you get busy.
We compared six free Google review widgets on what matters most: view limits, how many widgets you get, branding, review updates, and what paid plans cost. We make RepU, one of the six, so every widget is listed in alphabetical order and every claim links to the provider's own pricing page. All details were checked on 31 October 2026.
Quick answer: Jotform and RepU state no view limits on their free plans. Elfsight (200 views a month), EmbedSocial (500), and SociableKIT (2,000) all cap views. The free Trustindex WordPress plugin shows up to 10 reviews per widget.

How we compared them
We checked each free plan on the provider's own website. We looked at five things: monthly view limits, the number of widgets or review sources, branding, how new reviews reach your site, and the price of the cheapest paid plan. Where a provider does not say, we have written "not stated" rather than guess.
Elfsight
Elfsight is a large widget library, and Google reviews is one of many apps. The free plan gives you 1 Google reviews widget with 200 views a month and Elfsight branding. Elfsight says that going over the monthly limit will "temporarily deactivate your app", so the widget disappears until the next month.
Good for: Low-traffic sites that also want other Elfsight widgets.
Watch out for: 200 views can run out within days on a busy site.
EmbedSocial
EmbedSocial covers reviews, social feeds, and user-generated content. Its free plan is permanent, with 1 source, 500 views a month, and 500 media per source. Paid plans start with Pro at US$29 a month, and a 7-day trial applies to paid plans only.
Good for: Brands that want reviews and social feeds in one tool.
Watch out for: The jump from free to US$29 a month is steep for a small business.
Jotform
Jotform is best known for forms, and its Google Reviews widget is included in every plan, including the free one. Jotform says its website widgets have no page-view limits. The widget automatically shows 4 and 5-star reviews from your Google Business Profile, and you cannot choose individual reviews or show lower ratings.
Good for: Businesses that already use Jotform forms.
Watch out for: You cannot pick which reviews appear.

RepU
RepU is a Google review widget built for local businesses. The widget is free forever, with no view or review limits. You choose a corner widget, a carousel, or both, in a light or dark theme, and new Google reviews appear on your site automatically. The free widget shows a small "Powered by RepU" link.
Pro adds AI review replies, email review requests, instant lead alerts, and lead capture forms for AUD $19 a month per Google Business Profile, with a 30-day free trial. Your free widget keeps working if you never upgrade.
Good for: Busy sites that cannot risk a view cap, and businesses that want to turn reviews into leads.
Watch out for: The free widget includes the "Powered by RepU" link. Hiding it needs Pro.
SociableKIT
SociableKIT embeds social feeds and reviews. Its free plan is for 1 widget on 1 domain, from 1 source, with up to 2,000 views a month. Free users request a manual refresh, which SociableKIT says happens "generally once every 24 hours". Removing the SociableKIT branding link is a paid feature.
Good for: Sites with moderate traffic that only need one widget.
Watch out for: New reviews do not sync automatically on the free plan.
Trustindex
Trustindex offers a forever-free WordPress plugin that connects 1 review source, such as your Google Business Profile. The free plugin shows a maximum of 10 reviews per widget. If you register for Trustindex's free package instead, website widgets only display for 7 days.
Good for: WordPress sites that are happy showing 10 reviews.
Watch out for: It only works on WordPress, and showing all your reviews is a paid feature.

Which free widget should you choose?
- A busy website: choose a widget with no view cap, like Jotform or RepU. Capped widgets switch off once you pass the limit.
- A WordPress site with a handful of reviews: the free Trustindex plugin is simple and shows up to 10.
- Reviews and social feeds together: look at EmbedSocial or Elfsight, and budget for a paid plan.
- Reviews that turn into leads: RepU Pro adds a lead capture form that appears after visitors read your reviews.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a completely free Google review widget?
Yes. Elfsight, EmbedSocial, Jotform, RepU, SociableKIT, and Trustindex all have free plans. The difference is the limits. Jotform and RepU state no view limits, while the others cap views, widgets, or reviews.
Why did my free Google review widget stop showing?
The most common reason is a monthly view limit. Elfsight's free plan, for example, allows 200 views a month and temporarily deactivates the widget when you go over.
Can I show Google reviews without a widget?
Not really. Google does not offer an embed for your reviews. A Google Maps embed shows your business and star rating on a map, but not the reviews themselves.
Will Google reviews on my website show stars in Google search?
No. Google does not show review stars for reviews about your own business that you add to your own website. Showing your reviews still builds trust with visitors, which is where the value is.
